Durban - Two months after e-hailing food service driver Cedrick Musonera died after being shot outside the KFC in Florida Road, Durban a man has been arrested.
Thaveshan Pillay, 31, of Springfield Park has been charged for Musonera's murder.
Pillay made his first appearance in the Durban Magistrate's Court and has been remanded in police custody.
The matter was adjourned to next week for bail consideration.
Musonera, 33, had been collecting a delivery from the food outlet in Florida Road in June, when he was accused of skipping the queue.
It is alleged an altercation ensued between the men inside the outlet.
Upon returning to his motorbike, Musonera was shot. He died at Addington Hospital an hour later.
Pillay is alleged to have fled the scene.
KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbele confirmed Pillay's arrest.
Mbele said Berea SAPS had received a complaint of a shooting on Florida Road on June 18.
"On arrival they found a 33-year-old man with two gunshot wounds to the body. He was taken to hospital for medical attention.
"It is alleged the victim had an argument with an unknown suspect who opened fire before fleeing the scene,"she said.
