Durban - DURBAN IT fundi, turned-widely travelled muso, Creagen Naidoo, has released his first solo single track titled We own tonight.

With a family history rooted in music, it wasn’t long before the bug bit Naidoo - whose career has branched into dance, house and pop genres.

His debut single is available on a number of digital platforms and expected to air soon on East Coast Radio.

“I come from a family of musicians. At an early age, I learned to play instruments and singing came naturally. I entered local contests showcasing my talent on stage and it was well received. I’m inspired by people who rise above their circumstance to become successful,” said Naidoo.

Raised in KwaDukuza, he now lives in uMhlanga and juggles a full-time job as an IT specialist and musician.

Naidoo’s performances include recently at the Square Boutique Hotels Rio Carnival Celebration - highlights of this were showcased on Mela on SABC 2.

He was also acknowledged by the Miss India SA team for his performance at the 2018 Gauteng pageant, at Miss India International in Durban and he will perform at Miss India SA next month.

Naidoo was also invited to open for the “Love Tour” in Pietermaritzburg, alongside artists with the likes of Jamali, Ernie Smith and Clint Brink.

“I consider myself to be a versatile performer. I do a variety of genres like pop, rock, RnB, and dance,” he said, adding: “My single, We own tonight is my first single. Written by myself and produced by Paul Banks, the song features my vocals and I play live guitar on my vintage Fender Strat. Paul and I worked together on the composition of music. I love the elements of live instruments in a track. For now, I have released the track as a single and will consider an album in the future.”

The track is available via all digital platforms, like iTunes, Apple Music, Google Play, Deezer, Spotify, Napster and more.

“It will be played on the radio soon, as well as our very own East Coast Radio,” said Naidoo, who is working on a new dance/electro/house single called Late Flight.

“Collaborations with other artists are in the pipeline, in South Africa and abroad”

And when he’s not on the mic, Naidoo said he is driven by some of his life passions: “My friends tell me I’m quite a good chef, cooking is a passion. When I need to de-stress I cook up a storm! I am also passionate about giving back and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those less fortunate.

“I believe that anything is possible, your circumstances do not determine who you are, you strive to better yourself rather than succumb to your situation.”
