How pupils are prepping for the exams

Savania Govender,

18, has tried all the tricks to up her game.

“I meditate and it helps with my stress and managing my time. My mom also makes me almond milk and we even Google for advice on foods that will keep me alert.”

While she admitted she was a bit nervous, Savania is aiming for 5 As and wants to study physiotherapy.

Nokaphiwa Nyanthi,

18, has been focused on her studies and doing her best, since the start of the year.

“I have altered my sleeping time to ensure I am at my best before hitting the books. When I return home from school, I sleep and then stay up the whole night to study. It’s quieter then.”

She is hoping to achieve four distinctions.

“One of them has to be for accounting because I want to study internal auditing. The thought of getting that A symbol will push me to perform well.”

Brad Pillay

is mentally prepared for the matric finals.

“My teachers have motivated and helped me, so I can work or study stress free. I will walk into the exam room with a positive attitude and give off my best.”

He said that while in Grade 10, he was struggling with maths but his teacher encouraged him to focus.

The 18-year-old wants to study optometry.

The school’s head boy, Shivram Maharaj,

18, said he had put “150%” into his studies after the gruelling trials.

“Trials were rushed and the core subjects were written close to one another. Now, there is more time to revise properly and prepare mentally. I am up for the challenge.

“I am currently sitting on six As and a B, so I will be pushing harder for 7As.”

Shivram has been pre-accepted to study toward a Bachelor of Accounting degree.
