ELEVEN more police officers will be placed in Chatsworth.

That's according to Minister of police, Bheki Cele who has been addressing concerned residents of Chatsworth.

Cele has returned to the Nelson Mandela Youth Centre to respond to a memorandum he was handed by concerned citizens after a botched hijacking resulted in the death of 8year old Sadia Sukhraj.

While he admitted he could not provide a satellite station in the Shallcross area, he has promised that he will be working with Metro police to have at least two more vehicles constantly patrolling Shallcross.

He has also promised more blue light vehicles.

Cele, who recently visited the little girls family, said the third suspect, who fled the scene was known to police however two weeks later and no arrest has been made yet.

When asked earlier today, Cele said: “the reason why we haven't found him yet is because criminals cover each other. The person that gave us information has been moving us from pillar to post so the guy is being covered but we are sure we will find him and reprimand him.”

Cele also could not reveal who shot the fatal shot that killed Sadia.

“The process is still underway and we cannot tell for now,” he told journalists at the Nelson Mandela Youth Centre.

Cele has been addressing scores of concerned residents from Chatsworth at the Youth Centre earlier today.

Residents spoke about past incidents and present incidents affecting their areas and Cele has promised more visible security for Chatsworth.
