Research
Phuket has some fantastic islands, each equally fantastic. However, if you do not have enough time to explore all the islands then choosing the right one is important. Start researching the islands before you book one. You will know which one to choose when you see the pictures and learn about its history.
Book the right operator
There are many operators who are known to scam tourists. Choose three operators, get quotes to see which one offers value for money and ask the locals advice before choosing.
Speed boat or cruise?
There are upsides to them both. Speed boats allow you to travel within smaller islands and inside caves while the cruise offers comfortable seating and space. I chose the later due to being claustrophobic and not wanting to get inside the caves. Whatever you choose, you are bound to have a good time.
Buy some souvenirs
I found the souvenirs at the island cheaper than when I went to the markets. I suggest you purchase some mementos while on an island, but be sure to know market prices to compare the better deal.
Soak in the scenery
Instagram pictures does not do justice to the scenic beauty these islands offer. The tours are usually a full day and the operators give you a chance to explore. Take an hour to soak up the sun, play in the water, marvel at the huge mountains and take lots of videos to show everyone back home.
