Dubai - One&Only Le Saint Géran, on the northeast coast of Mauritius, has announced its plans for an exciting rebirth of the beloved resort.

The resort will close in February 2017 for an extensive renovation, and will re-emerge in late 2017, retaining what guests have always loved – a sense of exclusive privacy on its own private peninsula, with a beachfront and calm lagoon unlike any other resort in Mauritius.

Brand new guest rooms and suites will be introduced as well as new culinary experiences, two new pool experiences plus new fitness and spa offerings for guests to discover.

The resort will retain the incredible service that is a hallmark of One&Only and which continues to set the ultra- luxury standard for hospitality in Mauritius. One&Only will also be introducing residences to the resort for those seeking an idyllic lifestyle on the island.

“The planned enhancements will ensure that the resort continues to showcase what people have come to love about One&Only Le Saint Géran. The comprehensive redesign will amplify the already extraordinary experience of this cherished property, with its unmatched beachfront with private lagoon.

“Our renowned staff, led by General Manager Charles de Foucault, will continue to focus on providing guests the most caring and generous service in Mauritius,” said Philippe Zuber, Chief Operating Officer/President, One&Only Resorts.

“As one of the original luxury resorts in the country, we have a strong commitment to the destination and have been working closely with the very supportive government of Mauritius as we advance plans for the rebirth of the resort.”

A complete renovation of all guest rooms will introduce additional suites, in response to demand from loyal guests.

Additionally, a strong focus has been placed on showcasing the magnificent views and surroundings of the resort, with muted hues of warm white marble, teak and greys being used for the complete makeover including new furnishings, fabrics and colour schemes to reflect the lush tropical landscapes, the vibrant turquoise Indian Ocean, and the bleached white of Mauritian sand.

One&Only Le Saint Géran has always been known for its gourmet dining options. All of the restaurants will be redesigned, introducing additional outdoor dining and new dining concepts including a pan Asian experience complete with sushi bar.

At the North end of the resort, guests will be able to enjoy a new pool, complete with a new bar and restaurant with an open kitchen.

The existing pool will also be renovated, providing guests with the choice of three pools in all, including the secluded spa pool and new peninsula pool to complement the one kilometre of palm strewn private beach.

Finally, One&Only Le Saint Géran will be unveiling private residences for guests who want to make the resort home.

Secluded villas with their own pool will be introduced with a full suite of amenities and resort services for Residents to enjoy the Mauritian life, One&Only style.
