It is home to the pilgrimage temple Pura Tanah Lot, a popular tourist and cultural icon. Deemed one of the must visit spots, the temple is historic, filled with tales of its culture and building. The best time to visit is during sunset, the views are spectacular.

Get up early to see the sunrise on Mount Batur, an active volcano located at the center of two concentric calderas north west of Mount Agung on the island of Bali. The south east side of the larger 10×13 km caldera contains a caldera lake. The views are stunning and a hike up is recommended.

One of my favourite things to do while on holiday is seeing animals. At Bali Safari and Marine Park, or Taman Safari III is a branch of Taman Safari located in Gianyar, you can spot many animals wandering the site. It is an open zoo with animals from all over the continent.
