FlySafair took home the title of Best Performing Airline in the low-cost category for the second year in a row at the annual Feather Awards this week. Established by the Airports Company South Africa (ACSA), the Feather Awards are aimed at recognising excellence in aviation. The awards are judged at each airport on an individual basis, and are based on a range of criteria around the quality of customer service offered by the airlines which service those airports.

Last year, FlySafair set a new record at the awards, achieving top performing LCC at every airport to which it operates. The airline was honoured again this year, once more putting in the top performance across ACSA’s network of nine airports in South Africa.  FlySafair has indeed been impressive in 2017, retaining its standing as most on-time airline in the world and landing the sought-after role of official domestic carrier of the Springboks.

“When we took home the Award for Best Low Cost Carrier in 2016, we knew we could not afford to become complacent in our ongoing pursuit of excellence,” says Kirby Gordon, Head of Sales & Distribution at FlySafair. “Winning this award for the second year in a row is really a testament to the unwavering focus of the entire FlySafair team.”

Gordon says Awards such as these will spur the airline on to achieve new heights of success. “We remain relentless in our drive to better our performance and look forward to continuing to go from strength to strength,” he says.
