Portuguese airline taps into new market

Lisbon - Portuguese airline TAP has announced that it will be operating new flights from October 30 to destinations in Europe, Brazil, Venezuela and Mozambique.

TAP will run a total of 35 flights per week to Madrid, while a new daily service will link the archipelago of Madeira to London, meaning seven daily flights between Portugal and the British capital.

There will be one extra flight a day to Scandinavia, with direct daily services to Copenhagen and Stockholm and four flights a week to Oslo via Copenhagen.

TAP will operate one more flight a week to Venice, with a total of five flights a week to Italy. Five extra flights a week to Munich will bring the weekly total to 12.

Long-haul destinations Caracas, Natal in northeast Brazil and Mozambique will also see an increase in flight frequency.

Flights to the Venezuelan capital will increase from three to five weekly, with two direct flights and two via Funchal in Madeira and Porto in northern Portugal.

Natal in Brazil will also see two extra flights per week, while one further flight to Mozambique will see three flights a week to Maputo.
