Port Elizabeth - Samara Private Game Reserve is offering guests who book directly with them for The Karoo Lodge a 15 percent discount as part of their special Christmas offering.
The team at Samara has also put together a traditional Christmas dinner menu which will be served in the boma, and a Christmas Day picnic lunch to be enjoyed on top of the mountain where the vistas of the Karoo present their full glory.
The reserve is located on 70 000 acres of wilderness in the Great Karoo, offering breathtaking views over the plains of the Camdeboo.
Situated approximately 270km from Port Elizabeth and 53km from the nearest town of Graaff Reinet, Samara offers easy access to visitors on excellent roads.
The abundant land - which has been allowed to rest over a period of 20 years - preserves a complex and diverse ecosystem. Four vegetation biomes provide habitat for over 60 mammal species, including aardvark, Cape mountain zebra, giraffe, black and white rhino, buffalo, eland, gemsbok and cheetah to name but a few.
The malaria free property is geared to accommodate families and the team is passionate about educating the youth about wildlife and conservation. Family activities include game drives, exciting walking safaris tracking cheetah and rhino as well as picnics in the bush or on a cliff top.
The accommodation is in keeping with a traditional Karoo-style farmhouse, with various options to suit guests' needs. The Lodge Suites in The Karoo Lodge and standalone Karoo Suites can accommodate families of up to five. The exclusive-use Manor House has four rooms, accommodating larger groups or families and can be booked exclusively.
