Johannesburg - City Sightseeing Joburg & Soweto has opened a new ticket office at the OR Tambo airport.

Located in arrival hall A, the new ticket office is open every day from 6am to 10pm and allows for domestic and international travellers to purchase tickets for the City Sightseeing bus and Soweto Tour extension, collect up to date info on the City Sightseeing Tours and also receive assistance with finding and travelling on the Gautrain.

For travellers awaiting a connecting flight the City Sightseeing staff will be able to advise if they have enough time to do the City Sightseeing tour before their next flight – and for those who do the tour there is a baggage storage facility nearby where they can safely leave their suitcases.

Connect to City Sightseeing with the Gautrain

The City Sightseeing Red City Tour of Johannesburg’s CBD is in its second year of successful operation and City Sightseeing have made a point of ensuring that they are increasingly accessible to travellers – both locals and tourists alike – by having strategically placed ticket offices at Gold Reef City, the Gautrain Park Station, and now at OR Tambo airport.

“You can start the City Sightseeing tour from any of the stops along the route – and with ease from Gold Reef City – however it is highly recommended that you connect to the City Sightseeing bus from the world class Gautrain, either at Park Station or via the new OR Tambo ticket office.

“Time permitting, visitors in transit at OR Tambo airport can travel by Gautrain directly from the airport to Park Station, catch the bus to enjoy a glimpse of Johannesburg before returning to the airport,” says Claus Tworeck, CEO of City Sightseeing South Africa.

The Red City Tour operates on a Hop-On, Hop-Off basis, which means you can hop-off the bus at any of the stops along the route and then get back on to a later bus when you are ready – sightseeing which is safe, reliable, affordable, informative and fun. You can also choose to stay on the bus for the full circular route – meaning that in just two hours you can experience the best of Johannesburg.
