Ever wondered where your favourite South African personalities like to escape to for the weekend?

Here's the low down on their favourite weekend spots — most of which are local.

Khanyi Mbau - TV personality

When Khanyi Mbau is not busy serving us some great entertainment on screen, the beauty loves some quiet time. “I am always working so the best time to unwind is at a quite place where I can relax and rest. I also enjoy Magaliesburg Mountains and shopping at the farm stalls,” she says.

Chris Jaftha - TV presenter

Chris Jafta loves Thorny Bush in the Kruger. He says: “I love nature, so whenever I get a chance to go to the bush I will. I end up on long drives, spotting all sort of wild animals. This makes me feel at peace.”

Ryan Keys - designer

We agree with Ryan Keys- Sun City is also the place we would go to for a weekend.

“I love Sun City. The drive is great. There is nothing greater than chilling by the pool and this is a place that has great childhood memories for me.”

Jarred Doyle - celebrity publicist

Durban is a great escape for Jarred Doyle, a celeb publicist. “Its always great to hop on a plane and spend some time at the beach. I am spontaneous and when I need downtime, I love escaping to Ballito,” he says.

Aseema Kazi- fashion designer

Aseema Kazi loves the Drakensberg Mountains. She says she loves driving there during the winter months. “A road trip is always a good idea. The Drakensberg is beautiful in winter,” she says.
