What a better way to signal the end of winter than a day tour to the Ballito Strawberry Festival.

The event will take place on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at the award-winning hydroponic strawberry farm called Cappeny Estates in Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal.

Travellers have a day to explore their vast strawberry fields as they pick and taste the fresh harvest.

The “Freshly Picked Strawberry Tasting Station” will pair the pickings with fresh cream, chocolate and other great toppings.

The selection of hearty food, wine, beer, bubbly, gin, coffee, mocktails and ice-cream is another event highlight.

For those who are not quite sure what to do with their fresh pickings, there will be Berry Cook demos.

Live music, children’s activities and fun competitions are also on the line up.

Marketing Executive Yoliswa Gumede said the event will feature something new this year.

“The festival will feature a bring and braai area this year. Visitors can enjoy a feast while they enjoy a range of entertainment. It is a fun place for every member of the family,”  she said.

Kids under 5 years get free entry and can only pick strawberries under paying adult supervision.
