Former Mother City soccer boss Brian Ebden has taken soccer star Thembinkosi "Terror" Fanteni to court for allegedly owing him R870 000 in outstanding management fees.

But the 25-year-old Orlando Pirates striker, who started at Edben's Mother City Football Club and later played for Ajax Cape Town and in Israel, as well as for the Bafana Bafana 2010 squad, hotly disputed the claim.

Fanteni in turn claimed Ebden helped him with a 2007 Adidas sponsorship, but had not paid him or even accounted to him on what he was owed.

Ebden famously accused Sir Alex Ferguson in 2002 of groping his girlfriend Nadia Abrahams and sold the story to a UK tabloid for R1 million. The state declined to charge Ferguson.
