With the focus on Cape Town as the hub of culinary excellence during May's Good Food & Wine Show, Inn on the Square continues celebrating the Mother City's heritage with a series of events inspired by South African cuisine.

Being one of Cape Town's historic buildings, Inn on the Square has initiated a fusion of culture and cuisine, with recent events that have included a jazz 'n braai evening during the International Jazz Festival as well as a spitbraai earlier this month and now a potjie.

“We owe it to our landmark location and history to explore South African culture through flavours, ingredients and distinguished meals that appeal to the local and international palate. What better way to celebrate our culture than these renowned Cape dishes,” says food and beverage manager, Francois Momberg.

On Friday May 25, from 13:00 - 17:00 the Inn on the Square invites guests to gather on Dish restaurant's terrace overlooking historic Green Market Square for a traditional Oxtail Potjie. Homemade soup to start will excite the taste buds for the Oxtail Potjie main, accompanied by cream spinach, stamp mielies and green salad. An indulgent bread and butter pudding completes this lekker lunch.

The Inn on the Square three course Potjie special is R140 per person including a glass of red wine.

Booking essential, call the hotel on 021 423 6141 or email Francois Momberg [email protected]
