The 4 star President Hotel, situated in the picturesque Bantry Bay, Cape Town, is the first hotel in South Africa to provide in-house guests with the free ‘Handy’ smartphone. With the ability to take this new travel buddy on or offsite, the hotel aims to equip visitors with a better way to discover and experience what the city has to offer.

With the Handy device, President Hotel guests can conveniently make unlimited local and international calls. This will allow global travellers the ability to stay connected with friends and family without the hassle of buying a local SIM card, or the worry of roaming charges. In addition to making calls, users get unlimited 4G mobile data to surf the internet, download favourite apps and stay connected on social media.

This mobile travel guide also includes details of the services available at the President Hotel as well as a location specific content such as nearby tourist attractions, places of interest, and brand promotions offered in the area.

More than a smartphone, the Handy technology also eases communication between the hotel and in-house guests; speed dialto the hotel’s concierge or guest services where the team can assist with travel recommendations, directions, and more.

“We are proud to be the first hotel in South Africa to provide these ‘handy’ benefits to our guests,” states President Hotel General Manager, Jeremy Clayton. “This service is aligned with our mission to provide the best experience for our in-house guests by continuing to improve our offerings with the tech-savvy traveller in mind.”
