Staying at hotels can be a pricey affair. After months of saving for that once in a lifetime stay, it would be a waste if you didn't enjoy all the facilities and amenities that the hotel has to offer. Here are some of our tips to help you get the most of your next hotel stay:

Ask for the hotel services when you check in

Hotels are becoming more than a place to lay your head down at the end of the day, and guests should take advantage of this. Travellers should ask the hotel what services and specials are offered at the hotel so they can make time during their stay to enjoy them.

Just ask

Want an upgrade? Ask. Want a toothbrush because you forgot yours? Ask. Want to have a late check out? Ask. Hotels thrive on providing customer satisfaction and want to make sure you return or tell others about the great service. Therefore, they will do everything in their power to make certain that your requests are handled in the best possible manner.

Don't be afraid to eat to your heart's content during the breakfast buffet

Many guests shy away from indulging in the breakfast buffet because they are afraid what other travellers may think. There is nothing stopping you from enjoying on some donuts, pastries or tucking into a full English breakfast.

You allowed to take the beauty products in the bathroom

Guests are more than welcome to take home the amenities, like shampoo, lotion and select toiletries, that they did not use. However, if the products are in big bottles, chances are it's meant to stay in the hotel room. If you are unsure, always ask the front desk what is acceptable to take home.

Enjoy the facilities

A range of facilities, from swimming pools, saunas, fitness centres and children playrooms, are offered to guests for the duration of their stay. Not trying them out will be an absolute shame and a waste of your money.
