While thousands of travellers will be going on holiday this upcoming festive season- many are not as fortunate.

Sure, those travelling may evoke the Travel FOMO in us- but taking a flight somewhere exotic is not the only way to spend the holidays.

Staycations are perfect for those who want to travel without having to spend hours to get there. It's the ideal way to see your city if you have not already planned a break for the festive season.

Now that you have decided to take a staycation, here are tips to plan your itinerary:

Decide the number of days:

Whether you choose to stay at home and travel to different locations every day, make sure you set a time frame. It could be a weekend, three days or even five. Once you have determined a time frame, it's easier to slot your desired places in.

Make a list of places you want to see in your city:

Have there been any places you wanted to see but never got the chance to?   Make a list of a few places that you want to visit and call to find out if they opened during the festive season. When creating the list, try to make it unusual places that you won't usually do every day.

Be time specific:

Be realistic when planning your time from one tour to the next. Take into consideration the activities and tour times. Also, allow for a 30 minute to an hour gap in your schedule for unforeseen events.

Book online:

Most tours and trips are easier to book online and takes half the time. That way, you can enjoy the rest of the time enjoying with your loved ones.
