There will be a water park and outdoor cinema coming to Abu Dhabi next year. Abu Dhabi will be working to enhance the tourist attractions on its Corniche Beachfront, following the endorsement of a Master Development plan by the Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities (DUPM).

The project will consists of many phases that will start from the Lagoon Beach and the parallel wal. Phase 1 of the project is expected to be complete in March 2018. It will span an area of 78 thousand square meters comprising a host of recreational, service and commercial facilities. Among the new attractions will be a water park offering a variety of activities and aqua sports facilities, an outdoor cinema, theatre, outdoor sports hall, open adventures and playgrounds, kiosks, restaurants and retail outlets.
Other development will include numerous services such as Henna design, lockers, boats and bike rental, segway scooters, tourist kiosks, tours, and sports outlets selling sports accessories like ski boards and food supplements.

Upgrading the Corniche will also offer visitors a unique opportunity to practice a variety of recreational and sports activities in a venue boasting world-class standards.

The Abu Dhabi City Municipality has confirmed that the surrounding areas of the Corniche areas will not be affected by the improvement project and will remain open to welcome visitors as per its normal schedule from 7am to midnight.
