The Drakensberg is a destination that speaks out to the those who have a desire to be closer to an untouched wilderness.

A serene area, the Drakensberg allows visitors to relax and escape from their busy lives in the city and explore the wild lands - either through hiking, horse riding or canoeing.

From following trails in the mountains, to hiking to the top to bask in the scenery of Mother Nature’s best creations, to riding in a helicopter over the Tugela Falls - the activities to do in the Drakensberg are endless and totally worth it.

For those who prefer lying back on a lounger near the pool, reading a book, drinking a flute of champagne or having a nap under the sun - the Champagne Castle hotel is a beautiful resort for visitors to unwind while on the mountain, enjoying nature’s best offerings.

Places like Royal Natal National Park or the treacherous Sani Pass are ideas for those who wish to be adventurous on their trip.

The Southern side of Drakensberg offers spectacular views across the countryside, and although some of the trails like Sani Pass are only accessible by a 4x4 vehicle - the trip can most certainly be considered worth the ride.

Spotting a Vervet Monkey or a Baboon near your hotel room would be a great story to tell, or perhaps a tale about encountering a Zebra, a black Wildebeest or a Gemsbok while on a hike would satisfy your wanderlust.

End your journey with a concert by the Drakensberg Boys Choir, with a picnic, another glass of champagne and a boatload of memories.
