Thula Thula Game Reserve, Elephant Safari Lodge and Luxury Tented Camp, is offering wild encounters in the land of the elephant whisperer.
The private game reserve is a 4500ha wildlife sanctuary dedicated to the conservation, protection and survival of endangered species.
Situated in Zululand, KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa, only two hours from Durban, and one hour from Richards Bay, Thula Thula is a luxury safari destination where our rangers will share their incredible knowledge of the bush during exciting game drives while you observe elephant, rhino, hippo, buffalo, leopard and more than 350 bird species.
Thula Thula is also the home of our matriarch Nana and the special herd of elephants made famous in the best-selling book The Elephant Whisperer by Lawrence Anthony.

his wife Francoise who carries on the legacy of Lawrence with all the conservation projects as well as the running of both lodges.
With its unique atmosphere, stylish décor and superb cuisine, it offers you the choice of exclusive accommodation between the stylish Elephant Safari Lodge and the Luxury Tented Camp, offering an authentic African bush experience in a relaxed atmosphere where children are welcome.
The Thula Thula Conference Centre, with its elegantly decorated boardroom and lounge can welcome up to 25 delegates.
Thula Thula Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, for the rescue and care of orphaned and wounded animals, opened in May last year, while the Thula Thula Volunteers Camp will open this month. Extra activities include massage therapy, visit to an authentic Zulu village, and champagne picnic in the bush. Also on offer are French cuisine cooking lessons with Francoise.
Day visitors are welcome for a game drive and lunch.
