Durban Tourism launched their new accommodation app at the Durban ICC this morning.
The Durban Accommodation app, available on Android Play Store, will have a list of around 700 accommodation venues, list of shopping malls, police stations and airport information to help first time visitors navigate their way in the city.
According to web developer, Nomalungelo Khumalo from Lulu Lonke, she was excited about bringing Durban to life through the app.
“Apps are the future, something that many of us use daily to enhance our online experiences. The site is developed as an accommodation guide, but has other aspects like popular spots and airport information to help tourists get the best experience when they visit the city,” she said.
The app took 6 weeks to complete.
“Our inspiration was Durban and we took in the sights, smells and attractions to create an app that travellers and locals will want to use. We are hoping to add more voice prompts this year to enhance users experiences,” she said.
