The Mother City is in for a treat come November when American pop rock band, OneRepublic makes their much-anticipated return to Cape Town.

The last time the band performed in South Africa was in June 2015 ago as part of their Native album tour.

Seven years later, Big Concerts announced that the Grammy-nominated band will be performing at the Grand Arena at Grand West Casino on November 15 and the Times Square SunBet Arena in Pretoria three days later.

The band took to Twitter to share the news that South Africa will be included in their world tour.

“We’re thrilled to announce new shows this year! Israel is on sale right now, and tickets for South Africa will be available Friday. Details about Riyadh and Dubai coming soon. Can’t wait to see everyone there,” the tweet read.

The band is composed of songwriter and lead vocalist, Ryan Tedder, guitarists, Zach Filkins and Drew Brown, bassist Brent Kutzle, keyboard player Brian Willet and drummer Eddie Fisher.

Their hit ‘Counting Stars’ topped many South African charts for weeks on end and made the band a whopping $41million. The band is also known for their hit single, ‘If I lose myself’.

Since their debut album Dreaming Out Loud was released in 2007, the band has piled on one hit single after the other.

Their Native album went certified platinum in 2013 and their music has amassed five billion streams on Spotify.

In February this year, the band released the single ‘West Coast’, which is the lead single for their upcoming sixth studio album.

Tickets for the Cape Town and Pretoria tickets go on sale on Friday, June 10.
