Johannesburg - Trade union Solidarity said yesterday that hospital group Netcare had postponed the planned centralisation of its credit control department as a broader consultation process would take place.

This came after Solidarity cautioned the company to stop the centralisation, which was intended to be finalised by June next year.

During the first phase, the credit control divisions of six Netcare hospitals would have been relocated to a specified area in Gauteng.

The other trade unions concerned, Health and Other Service Personnel Trade Union of SA, Democratic Nursing Organisation of SA and National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union, have decided to oppose the centralisation process, which follows the recent centralisation of Netcare’s three support offices in Auckland Park, Centurion and Sandton to one office.

Shares fell 1.19 percent yesterday to R31.57.
