ESKOM Power capacity covers demand

Eskom’s available capacity would exceed expected peak demand by 8.8 percent, it said yesterday. Eskom said it would probably have 37 093 megawatts of capacity available while yesterday’s peak demand was forecast at 34 105MW. Eskom, which had total net capacity of 41 647MW as of March 31, said 2 666MW of plant capacity was lost to unplanned outages, while a further 3 289MW was not available due to planned maintenance. – Bloomberg
