The R70 a day minimum wage for farmworkers will be cancelled and renegotiated, Labour Minister Mildred Oliphant said.

Johannesburg - Two chairmen of state-owned enterprises are earning more than R100,000 a meeting, according to a report on Sunday.

Transnet chairman Mafika Mkhwanazi was paid R1 million for presiding over eight board meetings, reported the Sunday Times.

His Eskom counterpart, Zola Tsotsi, earned R908,000 in the last financial year for the eight board meetings he chaired.

This is according to information contained in the latest annual reports by the two companies, said the Sunday Times. - Sapa
