Implats falls, sees sharp drop in profits

Johannesburg - Shares of South Africa's Impala Platinum fall more than one percent after the mining company says its full-year earnings likely fell by as much as 75 percent after a five-month strike at its Rustenburg operations.

Implats says its headline earnings per share for the year to end-June are expected to be between 82 and 98 cents from earnings of 330 cents a year earlier.

Its shares are down 1.45 percent at 105 rand, making it the biggest loser on Johannesburg's Top-40 index. - Reuters
