Microsoft: Nokia deal gets SA’s green light

Comment on this story

Microsoft’s acquisition of Nokia’s devices and services business has received the green light from South Africa’s Competition Commission. The commission said yesterday it had recommended the approval of the takeover by the software company without conditions because “it was unlikely to raise significant competition or public interest concerns”. The international transaction has already found unconditional approval in India, Brazil, the EU, Israel, Turkey, Russia and the US. – Asha Speckman
