SUREN Sooklal has been appointed MTN’s chief business risk officer, the company said yesterday. Sooklal would establish and implement a risk management framework for the cellphone operator, it said. “Sooklal has an extensive 34-year track record, working with clients in the public and private sector, locally and internationally,” MTN Group president and chief executive Sifiso Dabengwa said. Sooklal joined the company from PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he worked for 12 years. He replaces Shauket Fakie, who was chief business risk officer for eight years and would retire this month. – Sapa
