Cape Town - Tawana Resources said on Wednesday that Mark Calderwood, who is an authority on pegmatites, a class of igneous rock, had taken up the role of chief executive.

The Australia-based company with a secondary listing on the JSE said in a statement that Calderwood had extensive experience in mineral exploration and production management.

The iron ore-focused company owns the Mofe Creek project in the heart of Liberia's historic iron ore district, 80km from the country's capital city and major port, Monrovia.
