Africa: Discover wants Maputo blocks

DISCOVER Exploration was considering blocks on offer in Mozambique as well as assets elsewhere in Africa, chief executive John Craven said on Friday. “Discover is interested in the Mozambique fifth round, though terms are a little more onerous despite the recent oil price fall,” Craven said. The company may also look at blocks in South Africa and the west of the continent, according to Craven. He has worked in Ghana and sees similarities in geology with the Rovuma basin. “Discover will prioritise good geological trends ahead of geographic locations,” said Craven. – Bloomberg
