Los Angeles - Social media app Snapchat now gets as many video views daily as Facebook, a spokesperson for the company said on Thursday, according to media reports.
The Los Angeles-based startup said it has doubled its video views to 4 billion daily in just three months, driven by a popular new feature, Live Stories, which compiles video clips from around the world, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Facebook reported 4 billion daily video views in the first quarter of 2015.
In 2013, Snapchat made headlines when its duo of twenty-something founders turned down a $3-billion takeover offer from Facebook.
The company has since raised over $1 billion from investors, and in May was said to be valued at about $16 billion, according to a report by Bloomberg News.
