South African stocks shrugged off weaker global equities to scale a fresh lifetime peak on Friday, with the All-Share rising 0.01 percent, helped by a gain in some index heavyweights such as MTN Group.
The All-Share hit a new lifetime high to 40,248.05, while the Top-40 index is also just a few points shy of a new record. It is currently at 35,753.52 after hitting its highest ever, 34,786.03, on Thursday. - Reuters
