Windhoek - Namibia is willing to be Africa’s logistics hub in the wake of the launch of the Continental Free Trade Area (CFTA), the country’s trade minister Immanuel Ngatjizeko has said.

Ngatjizeko, who attended the first-ever Africa Trade Forum in Addis Ababa that ended on Saturday, said for the CFTA to be implemented, it is critical that there should be infrastructure development such as corridor logistics.

The trade forum that was organised by the African Union and took place from November 28 to December 3 brought together countries to discuss challenges hindering intra-trade flow.

Ngatjizeko said that Namibia has made good progress in creating a logistics hub for Africa, and especially to boost regional and continental intra trade flow.

Ngatjizeko singled out the country’s port of Walvis Bay, which he said is well-developed to facilitate trade within the continent.
