Pick n Pay had appointed two senior staff from Shoprite, who would work closely with new chief executive Richard Brasher, the firm said on Friday. Gerhard Ackermann, previously the merchandise director at the Shoprite Group, would work with Brasher and food merchandise director Peter Arnold on strengthening the planning department’s price and promotional strategy. Gustave Möller would join the planning department and focus on format development plans.
