An exclusive, curated retreat is to be hosted at the Palace of the Lost City, Sun City, over three days from July 28 to 29.
Called The Royal Escape Experience, the weekend will feature a world of culinary indulgences, pampering, pool parties, grand soirées, late-night after-parties and a banquet fit for royalty.
The event will feature a string of local and international musicians – a complete line-up will be announced soon. It is the first of several luxury “escapes” to come and has been launched by espAfrika, the producers of the award-winning Cape Town International Jazz Festival.
“Addressing the growing demand for unique entertainment experiences in Africa, The Royal Escape Experience is designed to appeal to the burgeoning luxury market, and the requirements for corporates to reward their select clientele,” said espAfrika in a publicity release.
The debut programme at Sun City will also host the inaugural Royal Escape Golfer’s Challenge, limited to 100 players and taking place on two of the continent’s most spectacular golf courses – The Lost City Golf Course and The Gary Player Golf Course.
“The Royal Affair will anchor The Royal Escape Experience and encompasses a series of experiences aimed at unlocking all the senses. Some of these sensory explorations include unusual and unique food and premium beverage pairings as well as the opportunity to discover limited edition items in a showcase where curated brands and high society meet,” said espAfrika.

The event is the place, added espAfrika, to network with various business leaders, socialites and corporate and to escape from the ordinary while rubbing shoulders with some of society’s most valued influencers.
