Johannesburg - Renowned South African mountaineer Saray Khumalo on Monday joined in the tributes for veteran racing driver Gugu Zulu, who died while trying to reach the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro.

“My thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time,” said Khumalo.

“It is a great loss for the South African adventure community.”

Zulu, 38, a veteran racing driver and television presenter, affectionately known as “the fastest brother in Africa”, died after experiencing breathing problems on the trek, which was part of a charity expedition.
