London - Big Bang Theory actress Mayim Bialik is getting a divorce.
The 36-year-old star has split from her husband Michael Stone after nine years, citing “irreconcilable differences”.
She wrote on her blog at Kveller.com: “After much consideration and soul-searching, Michael and I have arrived at the decision to divorce.”
Speaking about how they are planning to handle the difficult subject of splitting to their sons Miles, 7, and Fred, 4, she added: “Divorce is terribly sad, painful and incomprehensible for children. It is not something we have decided lightly.
“The main priority for us now is to make the transition to two loving homes as smooth and painless as possible.
“Our sons deserve parents committed to their growth and health and that's what we are focusing on.”
Mayim is adamant the “Attachment Parenting” philosophy - which was developed by paediatrician William Sears - that she and Michael practice did not play a part in the couple's decision to divorce.
The actress - who married Michael in California in 2003 - wrote: “The hands-on style of parenting we practice played no role in the changes that led to this decision; relationships are complicated no matter what style of parenting you choose.” - Bang Showbiz
