COPENHAGEN - A Danish tabloid that published topless photos of Spanish film star Penelope Cruz acted within the law, a Danish appeal court said on Monday, upholding a lower court ruling.
Cruz had sued Poul Madsen, editor in chief of the daily Ekstra Bladet, over the September 2013 publication of photos showing her and her young son on a beach.
The Hollywood star was ordered by the Eastern High Court to pay 25 000 kroner (about R43 929) in legal costs for Madsen, Ritzau news agency reported.
In June, Copenhagen District Court also cleared Madsen and the tabloid over the publication. - Sapa-dpa
