Austin is a visual creator and is responsible for some of the most beautiful pictures of prominent figures and celebrities such as Nadia Nakai, Siya Beyile, Nomzamo Mbatha and Dineo Moeketsi.
He says he was just as surprised when The Singleton called him with the opportunity to have him become one of the 'influencers', although he says he sees himself as more of a co-creator with the brand.
"I made stars and now I am one of them," he says with fake cockiness when asked how he feels now that he is in front of the lenses. Adding that he thinks it is his time to shine although he will not leave his first love.
Malema is one of four selected "artists" to partner up with The Singleton. Assistant Brand Manager Sasha Govender explains, "We wanted to align our beverage with people who know what taste is, hence the #MadeOfTaste. People like Austin who love their art and have created a distinct outlook of taste are perfect". She also added that the concept of hosting a dinner seemed like the perfect opportunity to create a platform for the people with good taste to network, all while enjoying good food and tailored cocktails chosen to reflect the host. The dinner also turned into a birthday celebration as it coincidentally collided with Austin's birthday.
Some of the guests at the table included social media influencers Tshepang Mollison, Carol Williams, Siya Beyile, Dineo Moeketsi and her beau Solo.
