London - Jessica Simpson is reportedly concerned her mother is drinking too much.
The 'Fashion Star' mentor - whose parents Tina and Joe announced they had filed for divorce after 35 years of marriage last month amid rumours her father is gay - is said to be worried her mother is drowning her sorrows with alcohol and has urged her to seek help.
A source told Star magazine: "Tina is hitting the bottle to ease her sorrows over her marital problems, she's built up quite a tolerance and has switched from wine to stuff like scotch and vodka.
"Jess is just a mess over this, she feels helpless and doesn't know what to do."
Jessica is said to have recently skipped her nephew's birthday to avoid her dad as she can't stand to be in the same room as him.
A source previously said: "One of her girlfriends says it's because she doesn't want to be anywhere near her dad.
Another insider also revealed: "Joe has been respectfully turning up at NBC at times he knows Jessica won't be there, It's the only way that it could have worked, because Jessica is struggling to work with him around her.
"Jessica comes in, fulfills her work requirements and leaves, and then Joe comes in later to check in with producers and conduct any meetings that are needed.
