One of the most highly sought-after young actresses in Hollywood, Jennifer Lawrence, an Oscar-nominee for her role in Winter’s Bone last year, has topped the Internet Movie Data Base list of top emerging stars of 2011.

She turned her blonde beauty blue to play Mystique in the blockbuster X-Men: First Class, and won the prized role of Katniss in the big-screen adaptation of The Hunger Games, to be released this year.

Second spot on the list goes to Tom Hardy, breakout star of Inception, who went on to feature in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and the action-heavy Warrior. This year he will be seen as the evil Bane, nemesis to Christian Bales’s Batman, in The Dark Knight Rises.

Third spot goes to Aussie actress Emily Browning, star of Sucker Punch and Sleeping Beauty; fourth position is occupied by Michael Fassbinder, of Jane Eyre and X-Men: First Class; and in fifth is Rosie Huntington-Whitely, the British model seen in Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

Henry Cavill, Dianna Agron, Alex Pettyfer, Jason Momoa and Saoirse Ronan complete the Top 10.
