Cape Town - The Great South African Bake Off attracted record ratings during its premiere episode.

The premiere was delayed by two days after techinal problems with the first episode - but a press release says it is now positioned as the highest performing programme on BBC Lifestyle this year. (Source: DSTVi/Kantar)

The programme pushed BBC Lifestyle to being the the number three international channel overall on DStv

 

The release says that episode one was the highest ranking show on BBC Lifestyle among all adults since 2010.

And the programme trended number one on Twitter for two hours.
