Cape Town - The premiere of the Great SA Bake Off will now be shown on Thursday this week.
The show - a local version of The Great British Bake Off - premiere was due to have been shown on Tuesday evening on DStv but did not air. At the time, BBC South Africa said there there "technical difficulties".
In a short statement on Wednesday, BBc Worldwide said there had been "recent upgrades to the content delivery system".
This meant that the first episode of The Great South African Bake Off "was not processed as it should have been, which resulted in the first episode not going to air.
"We appreciate how disappointing this is for our viewers and sincerely apologise.
"Episode 1 of The Great South African Bake Off will now be shown on Thursday 8th October 2015 at 8pm on DStv channel 174."
In a tweet, BBC South Africa says that episode 2 will be shown as scheduled next Tuesday.
