Johannesburg - As the sun peeked out from behind a grey cloud, it suddenly looked like the perfect day for a wedding.

Hail melted on the grass at Casalinga in Muldersdrift and staff wiped the rain from the chairs.

The raging storm that had made guests late for Pastor Ray and Zelda McCauley’s intimate ceremony cleared just in time for the bride to walk down the aisle.

Dressed in a blue flowing dress and adorned with diamonds and tanzanite, Zelda greeted guests as she and McCauley made their way to the pulpit.

But this time, her husband-to-be did not stand behind it, he stood with her hand in his as the 60 guests looked on, smiling.

On Thursday, Ray and Zelda, who have known each other for more than 10 years, remarried each other after having divorced in 2010.

“It’s a very modest and low-key wedding because they wanted something small and private,” said Rhema Bible Church spokesman Giet Khosa.

“Pastor Ray is our spiritual father and we wish him the best, and Zelda is also a lovely person,” said Khosa, who has known McCauley for more than 20 years. - The Star
