London - Have you ever been left off a guest list and convinced yourself the invitation got lost in the post? Well, thanks to a new trend, you won’t even be left with that scrap of dignity.

“You’re not invited” messages make it patently clear that there is no space for you at the party.

The concept hails from the US and is thought to be a result of our obsession with social media.

We read about friends’ forthcoming wedding or party and naturally expect an invitation.

“You’re not invited” messages are usually sent by email and explain briefly that it will be an intimate affair, the budget is too tight or the venue too small to include you. - Daily Mail
