Game of Thrones dominates Creative Arts Emmys

Fantasy series Game of Thrones won nine awards at this year's’ Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

The Creative Arts Emmy awards celebrate outstanding technical and creative achievements in television. At Saturday night’s event in Los Angeles, Game of Thrones took home nine awards - it was nominated for 15 - making it the most awarded show at the event.

It will look to continue its small screen dominance at the Primetime Emmys – South Africans can tune into the live broadcast on M-Net at 02:00 on 19 September. The fantasy series has been nominated for a total of 23 Emmys.

Game of Thrones won a range of awards including outstanding casting, production design, costumes, makeup, sound mixing and took home the award for outstanding special visual effects for the fifth time in a row. Odd are high it's going to win at least a few more at the Primetime Emmys. A full list of winners and nominees is available on the Emmys website.
