IOL Lifestyle and WearSA is giving a makeover
If you missed the Wear South African fashion show at Kenilworth Centre the weekend past, you missed on an awesome show. Luckily you have another chance to view what our local designers have to offer.
Seven South African designers will show off their latest collections as part of the annual campaign by Wear SA. The designers will showcase their ‘’Local is Lekker” designs at several shopping malls in and around Cape Town where fashion shows will be staged.
Designers who will be showing include Blue Collar White Collar, Magents, Democracy of Denim and Wear SA. Joining the line-up this year are two new labels – NVme Bikini and Nineteen94.
An exciting addition to this year’s shows is the search for two Wear SA Local Label Lovers.
One guy and one girl will receive a mini makeover which includes hair and makeup and SA designer garments.
Aspiring models and keen fashionistas will be required to enter online and attend the next show taking place at Canal Walk this Saturday May 6 2017 at 14h00 where finalists will be chosen.
The second round of finalists will be announced at the show. All competing contestants will have to be present at the show as well as the final show happening at Somerset Mall on Saturday 20th where they will be strutting on the catwalk.
On Saturday we met one of our finalists, Thea Lennox, at the Kenilworth Center show.
She is a mom, wife and police official and passionate about her job. More importantly she is PROUDLY South African and believes in our country whether it is rugby or fashion.
“I had looked at #Wearsa instagram page (wearsouthafrica) and their brand partners and just loved it. I would be honoured to be part of something so special. The Magents range looks so comfortable and awesome that it immediately caught my attention” says Lennox.
