Winter fashion on fleek!

Inspired by local fashion influences, Annette de Wet put together the 10 wardrobe essentials to stay warm and stylish.

1. Poncho

If you don't own a poncho yet, you are seriously missing out on the good side of life. The poncho is a powerful combination of comfy meets style and Hollywood A-listers like Kate Hudson, Rachel Zoe and Kate Moss can't get enough of this fashion favorite.

2. Hats

Hats are slowly taking over the scarf trend which is totally understandable. Not only does a hat make you appear super stylish, but it's also the perfect solution for any bad hair day.

3. Scarves

…but don't throw out your old scarves just yet! They still placed high in the top trends for 2016 as there is just something about that old school charm. It adds a touch of elegance to your outfit and transforms your off-duty jeans and t-shirt look from plain Jane to Lady Jane in a second.

4. Choker

Kendall Jenner made this edgy 90's trend high fashion royalty and her famous sisters quickly caught up. I know this is not everyone's favorite accessory, but you can't deny that all the 'right' people are wearing one.

5. Statement sunnies

No matter the weather, a pair of statement sunglasses always does the work! 9 Lives lifestyle blogger is on point with her stylish pair. Sunglasses are also the perfect accessory for those no make-up days when you have to go out, but still want to look like a boss.

6. Killer heels

Spice up your winter look with show stopper heels like these to-die-for ones Just Jade lifestyle blogger received from local designer Errol Arendz. Think color, bold prints and crazy textures… in this case more IS more!

A pair of ripped denims will add an edge to any outfit and all shapes and sizes can pull it off. You can even create your own version just using your office scissors (use with caution!) and voila. Wear a ripped boyfriend cut during daytime and glam it up with a super skinny version for late night dinner dates and parties over the weekend.

Hello Friday 💋 With so many setbacks this week, I'm glad I've got something to look forward to this weekend. Find something you're passionate about and do that. Also, do it in your favorite jeans 😉

8. Cape

Superwoman! The 'Lupita' trend will never go out of fashion as this look is the epitome of Girl Power. The key is to wear your cape with confidence or else you will just end up looking like Little Red Riding Hood got lost in the woods. #notsexy

9. Oversized

Ask any guy and he will tell you that there is something sexy about a woman who rocks an oversized look. The trick here is to balance it out. For instance wear an oversized knitted jersey with leather jeggings or an extra length t-shirt with dark skinny jeans. It is also the perfect choice for hiding any signs that you ate a whole pizza again…without sharing!

10. Long-sleeved LBD

The long-sleeved little black dress is the most essential clothing item in any fashionista's winter wardrobe. It works with literally everything from a stylish work jacket to a leather jacket or a colorful print poncho. It's also easy to take this look from day to night switching up with sneakers, ankle boots or high heels.
