Blue Monday? No, it's beauty Monday

London - It's enough to make you want to ditch the beauty regime and have an extra hour in bed.

Women think they look their best at 10.06 on Monday morning and it’s all downhill for the rest of the week, a survey has found.

Nearly a third of respondents said Monday was the day they felt at their most beautiful. This is because it is the start of the working week when they are most keen to”‘dress to impress”, the research found.

Meanwhile 10.06am was the “beauty peak” because this was when they were most likely to see their colleagues and bosses for the first time after the weekend.

But on no other day of the week and at no other time did they feel nearly as good about their looks.

Things reached their nadir at 4.05pm on Thursdays. That day, just three percent of women think they look their best, mainly because they make less effort with their appearance as the pressures of work take priority.

But by Friday, women were feeling better about themselves, with 23 percent of women saying they hadn’t looked so good all week – possibly because they were about to embark on a post-work night on the tiles.

A spokesman for Premier Laser Clinic, a London-based chain of beauty clinics which carried out the survey of 1 000 women, said: “We found that a lot of women were booking in for facials and other rejuvenation treatments on Saturdays.

“We had previously thought this was in primarily to prepare for a big night out.

“But many women admitted that they were more concerned about looking good for the start of the working week.”
